METRO 2039 | Gameplay Reveal - Hunter

There's a liar in these tunnels... In the Xbox Games Showcase, we revealed our first full gameplay trailer for METRO 2039, featuring nearly three minutes of footage captured completely in-game. In April, we revealed that our antagonist was not just “Fuhrer”, but none other than the first Spartan himself, Hunter. Today, we get our first in-game look at him, adorned in decorated Novoreich uniform, a fascist perversion of the iconic Spartan armour. His image can be seen all over, his presence looming over the Metro in crumbling posters, flickering propaganda, and towering statues. Gameplay was really what we wanted to show off here. Captured entirely in-game, we give glimpses into the diverse environments from the game, including many that directly inspired the nightmarish visions of our reveal trailer – from deadly wildlands to irradiated Moscow streets, struggling station communities, and the terrifying depths of the tunnels themselves. Everything that makes METRO, METRO, has returned, but there are some new features hinted at here too, from your first look at the Shatun weapon firing in anger, to new items, new mutant variants, and new ways to explore or take advantage of the environment.
