Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen became world famous for standing up to Donald Trump when he threatened to take over Greenland. Her approval ratings surged. International media painted her as Europe's most courageous leader. And she saw her chance. She called a snap election to ride the wave of support and secure a comfortable victory. But it went very wrong. Her Social Democrats recorded their worst result in over 120 years. The coalition lost nineteen seats and the majority vanished. The Danish People's Party more than tripled its support by talking about simple everyday problems like food prices and fuel costs. Voters in the suburbs who always supported the Social Democrats moved to other parties that actually listened to them. In this video I explain how Frederiksen tried to use the Greenland crisis as an election strategy and why it completely backfired. The media wants you to believe she is still strong and still the frontrunner. The election result tells a completely different story.
