In the video, he states, "I am still alive." He adds, "I appeal to the government not to use force against the students. I need an assurance from the government regarding this; if I receive such an assurance, I will break my fast today itself. If I do not get this assurance, I will continue the fast." Sonam noted, "It has been 25 days since the fast began, yet I am still alive. Some Members of Parliament came to meet me and urged me to end the hunger strike. If I receive an assurance from the government, I am ready to end the fast today—provided the government takes no action against the students." Sonam Wangchuk further stated, "By the 25th day, I have lost about 11 kilograms of weight and significant muscle mass, but I am doing okay. I was brought here to a private hospital in Gurugram from Safdarjung last night. I want to commend all those students who exercised such patience; they endured lathi-charges without retaliating or resorting to violence."
