Here are the 7 things you should know to correctly understand why things and what things are and arent happening. 1. Nuclear Weapons. To understand the war you need to understand the pretext for the war, and that was and still is the proliferation of nuclear weapons, Iran maintains its capability to pursue nuclear weapons which the united states doesn’t like, from basically the mid-90s to the mid-2010s the US UN and EU all sanctioned Iran for pursuing nuclear enrichment, that was until finally the Obamna administration managed to push through the Joint comprehensive plan of action, the JCPOA nuclear deal in 2016, this deal limited Iran’s nuclear enrichment to 3.6% in exchange for sanction relief and allowed for IAEA inspection of its nuclear sites. This was all supposedly going well, that was until President Trump backed out of the JCPOA for seemingly no reason in 2018 and reinstated sanctions on the IRGC government. Unsurprisingly, Iran restarted nuclear enrichment, which is funny because mainstream media at the time were treating this as if Iran had broken the terms of the JCPOA, even though Trump ripped up the deal. They actually keep referencing the JCPOA and are still mentioning it for some reason, but you know, whatever. A bunch of nothing burgers then happened for about 7 years until we got to Trump's second term. By this point trump is completely zogged out. In 2024, Trump had won the presidency, the house and the Senate and could do basically whatever he wanted to. Turns out that whatever he wants suspiciously also aligns with whatever Bibi Netanyahu wants. And on June 22, 2025, after much “encouragement” and many Netanyahu white house visits, Trump launched Operation Midnight Hammer in which 3 underground nuclear enrichment facilities were bombed by B2 stealth bombers using bunker buster bombs, a resounding mission success, and all the enrichment sites were completely destroyed, and everyone lived happily ever after and anyone suggesting otherwise is fake news. Welllll not actually, as it would seem. 2. The Protestercaust, the protestercaust, is pretty pivotal to know about as it served as the initial reason given by the trump administration to talk about regime change in Iran. Now what is the protestercaust? It was the killing of 30,000 protesters by the IRGC across 2 days in January of this year, or was it 40,000, 60,000, actually, I’ve heard it was 100,000, of course, all of these are wrong, and actually, every single person in Iran was killed, all 90 million of them by the IRGC in 2 days. Being more serious lets take the conservative 30,000 figure which was reported by the Times on the 25th of January. 30,000 killed over 48 hours is 10.5 people killed per minute, and would have led to massive piles of bodies in the streets and pools of blood that you would be able to see from satellite images. Those images however don’t exist, neither does any real footage by civillians on the ground, which is weird because even if there was an internet blackout people would still be able to record and later upload those videos on starlinks that were snuck into the country curtesy of elon musk, which they haven’t, but even more damning than that is that removing 30,000 bodies from a population centre is extremely difficult and requires insane logistical planning, heavy machinery and you would be able to see all of this from satellite images over the many days it would take to clean up. If what the mainstream media and the Iranian diaspora are saying is true, then that means that the 30,40,000+ dead figure would make it about as bloody as the bloodiest day of the battle of the Somme in world war 1, which obviously isn't the case.
